Jon Faddis “Remembrances”

Jazz trumpet virtuoso Jon Faddis will join the University of Illinois jazz faculty for an evening of Carlos Franzetti's arrangements of the works of Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, and Dave Brubeck. Known for his beautiful sonorous ballad tone and skill in the high register, Mr. Faddis will perform in the contemporary and timeless tradition of Gil Evans and Miles Davis.

Mr. Franzetti is recognized for his masterful orchestrations and movie scores, some of which have been performed by the Boston Pops and Paquito D'Rivera. He is a 2001 Latin Grammy Award winner for his movie score for Mambo Kings.
