Facts About the Allerton Music Barn Festival

- Venue
- A recently renovated, 40-foot high, 19th century Dutch hay barn, the Allerton Music Barn's accessible concert hall seats 175 people in an intimate setting with outstanding acoustics and original wooden beams.
- Artists
- World-renowned guest artists and Grammy-winning faculty from the UI School of Music perform in solo, cabaret, jazz, classical, and chamber concerts, including this year’s 2nd commissioned work for chamber orchestra and choir.

- The Allerton Music Barn is well-ventilated, but not air conditioned. We recommend comfortable, casual-chic attire.

- Now in its fifth year, the festival showcases outstanding music and sells out each season.

- Music Barn events have included the Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble, Grammy-winning Pacifica Quartet, internationally-acclaimed pianist Boris Berman, Piazzolla's tango opera "Maria de Buenos Aires" with pre-concert tango lesson, "Night in Vienna" classical chamber music, Veretzki Pass klezmer, the worldwide master of bandoneon, Peter Soave, Cabaret Night with Nathan and Julie Gunn, Ian Hobson and “Iberia”.
